Dear friends

We are delighted to let you know that the RIPE NCC Regional Meeting will take place at the Rahat Palace Hotel in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 9 June 2014. The meeting is hosted by the Internet Association of Kazakhstan, for whom Shavkat Sabirov will coordinate locally.

You can register now for free at:

This is the first time such a meeting will take place in the region. It is a great opportunity for us to meet our members in Kazakhstan and surrounding countries, and we are looking forward to seeing you there and getting to know you better.

The regional meetings give you the chance to talk to our staff and let us know about the important issues affecting you and the local community. This helps us understand what we can do to help you with your work and operations.

The meeting will see a full program of technical talks from local and international speakers on topics including:

  • Getting IPv4 address space
  • Implementing IPv6
  • Security issues (DNSSEC, RPKI, DDoS attacks, etc.)
  • Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and peering
  • Internet governance
  • RIPE Atlas and RIPE NCC measurement tools

We are also organising a social event in Almaty, which will be a great chance to network with our staff and fellow operators in the region.

IPv6 Training Course

You are also invited to attend the three-day Deploying IPv6 Training Course, which is free to attend and takes place at the meeting venue from 10-12 June. To attend the training, you just need to register at:

An outline of the course program is available at:

We hope you will take advantage of this excellent opportunity to improve your technical skills and to get to know the RIPE NCC and your colleagues in the region.

I look forward to seeing you in Almaty.

Kind regards,

Serge Radovcic
