Verification activities
On October 15, 2011 in the territory of Astana the stuff of the Office for intellectual property, Astana Department of justice together with the stuff of the Astana Department of internal affairs, special unit “SOBR” DVD of Astana with information support of “STV” held joint check on revealing illegal distribution of counterfeit audiovisual products at the territories attached to markets, trade centers, etc.
This event was held with a view to reduce the level of piracy.
Totally, on October 15, 2011 they revealed 14 places of illegal realization of counterfeit products in the territory of the city. They expropriated 2 021 units of audiovisual products amounting to 617 700 tenge, including 1 964 DVDs amounting to 589 200 tenge and 57 СDs amounting to 28 500 tenge.
For the realization of counterfeit products they took 11 citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in custody, including 1 minor.
In the territory of “Almaty” area of Astana there were reveled 7 places of realization of counterfeit products (district TC “Artem”, 3 points; TC “Lukman” 1; “Shanghai” market 3).
Seized: 1 067 discs, including 1 037 DVDs, 30 CDs.
In the territory of “Saryarka” area of Astana there were reveled 4 places of realization of counterfeit products (district TC “Moscow” 1 point, TC “Daulet” 1, “Sayanur” market 1, “Etalon” market 1).
Seized: 480 discs, including 454 DVDs, 26 CDs.
Also in terms of the event there were revealed abandoned audiovisual products in 3 places:
- in the territory attached to TC “Lukman”:
1) 142 units of DVDs amounting to 42 600 tenge, 1 unit of CD amounting to 500 tenge;
2) 211 units of DVDs amounting to 63 300 tenge;
- in the territory of “Shanghai” market
Retained persons and seized products are forwarded to the internal affairs bodies for making a remedial decision in accordance with the requirements of the criminal procedure legislation.
The same check measures are held all over the state.
